When I first found out about ChatGPT I thought there was a person sitting somewhere typing out the answers.. The more I used ChatGPT the more I wanted to know how a computer could answer my questions write articles solve my problems and even have conversations, with me that feel like I am talking to a real person.

The good thing is that you do not need to be a tech expert to understand how ChatGPT works. In this article we will talk about how ChatGPT works in a way that's easy to understand so anyone can learn about ChatGPT.

What is ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is a computer program that can talk to people. It was made by OpenAI.

ChatGPT is really good at understanding what people say. It can give answers that sound like a person is talking.

You can ask ChatGPT things like what you want to know or you can ask it to help you come up with ideas.

ChatGPT can also help you learn things.

Think of ChatGPT like a helper on your computer that has learned a lot from reading a lot of text.

Why do people like ChatGPT so much.

People like ChatGPT because it is easy to talk to.
You do not have to look at a lot of websites to find what you want to know.
You can just ask ChatGPT a question, like you are talking to a person.

What is Artificial Intelligence.
How do I get ready, for a job interview.
Can you tell me about photosynthesis.
Can you help me write a letter to someone.
ChatGPT gives you an answer fast so it is easy to get the information you need.

How Does ChatGPT Learn

One thing people get wrong is that ChatGPT thinks like a person.

It does not.

ChatGPT learns by looking at patterns in a lot of text. When it is being trained it looks at books and articles and websites and lots of things that people have written.

Think about reading a million pages and seeing how words and sentences and ideas are usually connected. That is basically what happens when ChatGPT is trained.

After a while the ChatGPT learns about

This can be a problem.

ChatGPT can give us ideas. When it comes to making big decisions we should still use our own brains. We need to think about these things.

AI systems are, like any technology. Sometimes they can be wrong. Show biases. This means they do not always understand things correctly.

If we know about these problems we can use AI in a way. We have to be careful when we use it.

Will ChatGPT Replace Humans?

A lot of people ask this question.

I think ChatGPT is more likely to help humans than replace them completely. It is a tool that can assist us.

AI can do tasks that we have to do over and again.. There are some things that only humans can do. These things are:

Creativity
Critical thinking
Leadership
Empathy
Decision-making

The people who get the most out of AI are the ones who learn how to use it. They use it with the skills they already have. ChatGPT and other AI systems are meant to help humans not replace them. We just have to use them in the way.

A Personal Observation

When I first started using ChatGPT I mainly used it to get answers.. Over time I realised its real value wasn't just about getting fast answers.

It was about helping me learn quicker.

Of spending hours on multiple websites I could ask more questions and explore topics bit by bit. If used right AI can be a learning buddy.

ChatGPT may seem amazing at first. Its basic idea is actually pretty simple. It learns from lots of text. Tries to give the best answer based on what you ask.

While its not perfect and doesn't think like a human it can still be super helpful for learning getting work done being creative and solving problems.
